GUITAR
The guitar lessons at String Theory are a perfect fit for novice to advanced players! Lessons will cover everything from playing simple songs and melodies, to advanced chords and scales up and down the fretboard in any key. Other topics such as reading tablature and chord charts, guitar anatomy, maintenance and care, tone chasing, and accessories will also be covered. The end goal of these lessons are to get you comfortable playing anywhere on the fretboard and put you where you can hang in any setting. Lessons will heavily focus on genres and styles your choosing, as well as spend time on a favorite song in each session to keep things fun!
Bass Guitar
Learn to unlock the full fretboard on the bass guitar. We'll focus on simple bass lines, chords, and melodies, as well as where these come from and how they all work together. Topics such as reading tablature and chord charts, bass guitar anatomy, maintenance and care, tone chasing, and accessories will also be covered. Lessons will heavily focus on genres and styles of your choosing, as well as spending time in each session on a favorite riff or song to keep things fun!
MUSIC THEORY
These lessons are structured to take you from an absolute beginner to a theory pro! Imagine finally being able to confidently read music on a staff, build triads and advanced chords, identify and perform notated rhythms, notate your music for other musicians, and much more. Many other topics can also be covered based on student interest, such as learning how to transcribe a song, and how to write lead sheets, lyric sheets, chord charts, and full scores.
MUSIC PRODUCTION
These are the lessons for you if you’re looking to get into the world of writing songs, making beats or EDM, as well as composing music for video games, movies, TV, and other forms of media. We’ll jump into the world of songwriting, DAWs, virtual instruments, recording, mixing and mastering, and more. By the end, you’ll have a thorough understanding of each step in the process music production from getting the initial song idea, all the way to releasing a finished track. As always, each session will focus of music styles of your choice!
Ukulele
The ukulele is a great and versatile choice for anyone of any age! With only four strings, it’s the perfect instrument for budding musicians. The ukulele has a much smaller learning curve than most instruments, so you could see major progress after as little as one lesson. We take all the guesswork out of learning to play and help you get to where you want to be in the quickest, easiest way possible!
Recording
Knowing how to play an instrument, sing, or create music is one thing, but knowing how to properly record yourself and turn it into a finished production is a whole other ballgame! Recording lessons at String Theory will teach you how to record, mix, and master your own audio; whether it be a quick recording of your instrument, or a entire multi-track song. Take your music from just an idea, all the way to a fully realized and professional production that you can share with friends, or even to streaming platforms with confidence!
