Start Making Real Progress

String Theory was founded with one goal in mind - to provide an affordable music lesson program for students at any location, that not only produces REAL results, but also instills a true passion for music. We have went through the same struggles and questions that our students have had while trying to learn a new instrument. Along our journey we’ve been able to figure out what exactly works and doesn’t work when it comes to making progress. As a result, we have created a more streamlined system that helps students reach theiindividual instrument goals, and FAST. Whether they are an absolute beginner, or a seasoned player looking to take the next step

What We Offer

We’ve gone through every important moment and milestone that it takes to become a great player and broke it all down into 5 unique levels to make clear WHAT you need to do, and WHEN you need to do it. Paired with an intuitive instructor who works with your individual needs, and access to a community of other students and musicians; you’ll finally have the support you need to start making real progress, and have fun while doing it!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I love being able to do my lessons online! I work irregular hours and it’s so much more convenient to be able to get my lessons done quickly from anywhere! Damon also really keeps the lessons engaging despite being online. He even sent over a zoom setup guide to take all of the guesswork out of the process!

Damon has been incredibly patient with me along my guitar journey. I had played a little bit before, but just never kept up with it. Since I've started my lessons at string theory I can't put my guitar down, because I'm finally making some real progress and even my friends and family have been noticing!  I couldn't reccomend string theory enough, 6/5 stars

Highly recommend as my 7 & 8 year old girls are taking lessons through virtually in piano and guitar. Highly knowledgeable, patient, and fun; he’s an excellent instructor for kids and adults alike. Whether you want to learn guitar, music theory, or recording, String Theory Rocks.

We Love Your Feedback!

  • How long does the program take?
It depends on the individual! Every student is unique and will learn at their own pace. A basic level of playing can be achieved in just a few months, but it could also be done in a few weeks depending on how much you play. The Momentum Membership will accelerate your progress and support you along your journey, but things like hand strength, dexterity, articulation, etc. can only be achieved by actually playing your guitar consistently.
  • How often should I practice?
I actually don’t like to use the word “practice”, and actually encourage my students not to! I know that sounds super weird, but hear me out. When you think of playing your guitar as “practice” it ends up feeling like homework in a way, and I’m sure the majority of us don’t want anymore homework in our lives. This is exactly why I like to think “play” not “practice”, and recommend only playing your guitar when you genuinely want to. You’ll find yourself picking up your guitar more often, and inevitably practicing more and accelerating your progress. With that being said, playing consistently is the best thing you can do for your progress. If you feel more comfortable setting a true practice routine, figure out a time frame that fits into your schedule and play for that amount of time each day, even if it’s only 15 minutes. If you have the time to play for an hour or two each day, then go for it! But don’t feel like you have to do that. Just try to play every day and you’ll quickly discover a time frame that works best for you!
  • Can anyone else see my lesson recordings?
Nope! All of your lesson recordings are for your eyes only
  • How does the reward system work?
Upon completing each level, you’ll get to choose a reward for all of your hard work! Rewards will increase in value each time you complete a level, with a total of 5 rewards
  • If I’m an intermediate guitarist, can I start from a higher level?
Yes you can! After signing up, your instructor will gauge your skill level and place you accordingly. However, rewards will still start at value level one. So if you start at lvl 3, you’ll choose a lvl 1 reward once you complete it. Once you finished the program, any remaining rewards would be sent every 1-3 months depending on the average time it took to complete the prior levels.
  • What happens if I miss a lesson?
If you happen to cancel or just forget a lesson, don’t worry! You can easily reschedule on our booking page, or just reach out to your instructor and let them know a day/time that works for you!
  • What memberships are coming next?
Bass and Piano will most likely be the next instruments to join the Momentum Membership, but I’m also working towards adding Music Production and Ukulele to the program as well!
  • Are there any low-income options available?
Yes! In this day and age the cost of living just keeps skyrocketing, and even with a decent-paying job it can be hard to get by. Anyone experiencing financial distress can reach out to us via email, phone, or text and we can work something out. I never want money to get in the way of anyone’s music!
